I just went back and read “Song of Imani.” Another fantastic read and I can see the many comparisons evoked in feeling, imagery and meaning. I don’t think this one takes anything away from the original yet undergoes a kind of metamorphosis that makes this recent reprise a little bit more abstract, a bit more “ultraviolet.” The original, in my opinion, seemed to have a more physical influence which I also liked. Both great pieces, both containing much depth.
